At TechSoup Global, our goal is to provide NGOs access to donated technology products. To achieve this goal, we deliver a technology donations program to eligible NGOs in an easily accessible, scalable environment with value-added services. Offerings include software donations along with other corporate donor technology programs.
Problem: Today, NGOs around the world request product donations from major technology providers. Technology donors struggle to handle requests while NGOs use significant program resources to apply for product donation grants through multiple channels. Each country presents unique language, cultural and other challenges.
Solution: TechSoup’s global channel leverages third-party NGO’s who are contracted to localize and manage the broad set of TechSoup technology philanthropy offerings. Essentially, TechSoup partners with local PNGOs to provide recipient NGOs with a single source to learn about, apply for, and receive technology product donations from TechSoup donor partners.
TechSoup’s value chain packages expertise, process, and technical infrastructure, which enables a partner NGO to deliver a cost-effective TechSoup product donation program relatively quickly.
The existing technical infrastructure established to support TechSoup donation programs in the U.S. and Canada serves as the basis for a scalable packaged solution for other international locations.
We believe it is the quickest, lowest cost and most sustainable way to create a local donation program and ensures the majority of ongoing monies generated through the local TechSoup program to stay in the country.
The table below sets out the roles and responsibilities of the PNGO, TechSoup, and the donation partner.
