ENCLUDE, an independent nonprofit IT consultancy service to the Irish Nonprofit Sector, partnered with TechSoup and London based Charity Technology Trust (CTT) to bring you the ENCLUDEit Programme in July 2007. ENCLUDE is about e-inclusion - the reduction of the digital divide in Irish Society- and aims to bring affordable, trustworthy systems and IT consultancy to Irish charities to maximize the benefits of ICT in areas of performance improvement, operation efficiency and the better use of donor funds.

As a consulting firm, nonprofit and charity, ENCLUDE brings a unique fusion of commercial sector and nonprofit sector experience together with the following values:

• To address the national problem of digital disadvantage by systematically developing the capacity of nonprofit organisations to deliver e-inclusion
• To put the interest of the nonprofit organisation at the heart of the service
• To use plain English and to avoid jargon or techno-speak
• To bridge and harmonise the nonprofit and IT cultures

Their longer term mission is to create high-impact initiatives that will offer solutions to groups of organisations and help move the sector as a whole ahead in its use of technology. Conscious that a ‘one size fits all’ approach is inappropriate, but that there is a great commonality of requirements (particularly among small and medium sized nonprofits) they are actively working with representative organisations to agree on approaches for confirming requirements and developing appropriate strategies.
